DESIGN FC PROGRAMS

We offer a wide range of design and creative programs to students from 4th-12th grade throughout Chester. We'd love to connect with you and your student. See below for a description of the programs we run, click the link below to fill out an interest form!

DFC @ Stetser

Afterschool Program

4th and 5th grade

Our flagship 22-week afterschool program. Over the course of the school year we work with students on creative self-expression and storytelling through a series of design projects. The culmination of the program is the jersey project, where students work with coaches to visually express what means most to them, their dreams and aspirations, and the people they love the most.

This program has been running at Stetser since 2018. See student work here.

Junior Design Coach

Stetser

6th and 7th grade

We are inviting alumni of the program to return to Stetser each week to help out in the classroom, become trained as Design FC coaches, and continue to learn and improve their design skills. CITs will also complete their own independent project each year.

The CIT program is a pathway to the Design FC Academy.

DFC @ STEM

Afterschool Program

7th-12th grade

As of this spring, we now offer afterschool programming at STEM Acadamy at Showalter. As part of a more advanced curriculum for middle and high schoolers, students are introduced to a variety of creative mediums (digital design, photography, videography, photo editing, fashion design, etc). Students also have the opportunity to learn directly from professional artists and designs from Chester through several guest workshops.

If your student is planning on attending/applying to STEM for the fall, and is interested in participating in our program, let us know!

DFC Academy

Advanced Program

8th-12th grade

The Design FC Academy is a program for our oldest, most advanced designers. Academy students work as coaches at Stetser, while learning advanced design skills from professional mentors. In the past our students have worked with EA Sports FIFA, and have travelled to New York City to speak and share their work with footwear designers from the adidas Brooklyn studio and sports and media executives at Kevin Durant’s Boardroom and 35Ventures.

To join the Academy, students must have completed 2 years of Design FC programming, and be in at least 8th grade.

Learn more about the Academy here.
