Rell is just a GOAT in Chester. I’m just tryna make it out and put my fam in better positions. Design FC changed my whole life! I was a shy kid, now… I’m just a beast when it comes to creativity or designing.

Kevin

Kevin or Kev is a youngin from the city of Chester Pennsylvania. DFC means a lot to me because it helped me improve in life. It gave me opportunities that I didn’t imagine myself having when I was younger. I appreciate Coach O (omri), Coach Oli and Coach Ayo for giving me this opportunity and helping me grow and inspire others with my jerseys and more. I now have the opportunity to inspire the youth and inspire others to keep striving in life and to keep going until they achieve their goals.

In DFC, I learned to not be afraid to try and ask for help, you will always struggle thru the process. That is why we have mentors there to help us get through the struggle and accomplish everything we want to do during the program. They never leave you to feel like they are not there to help at all. DFC has been a big part of my life and I'm glad Coach O asked me to be a part of this CREATIVE family.

Alycia

Design FC 2018 - Present, Design FC Academy Student.

8th grade, Chester PA.

Alycia hase been in Design FC since 4th grade and is currently a Design FC Academy student. She has previously served as Junior Coach Program where she mentored younger students in the program.

As a passionate artist and basketball player, we paired Alycia with Alex Taylor, an NYC-based designer who works heavily with adidas and the WNBA. Alycia spent the summer working with Alex to design a basketball inspired collection, and travelled to New York for a studio visit to see Alex’s creative process first hand

In 2024, Alycia was selected to represent Design FC and Chester as a design leader for the first ever Design FC Youth Creative Collective project, where she worked with youth around the world to design a collaborative jersey.

Curl Friends is about a girl who wants to make friends, but she feels different and has a tough time at first. In the end, she finds friends who appreciate her uniqueness!

I also added my nickname, Zar, to my jersey, along with pictures of bears.

I learned that bears symbolize strength, courage, and family in social studies. These are important traits that I believe in.

I miss the Dominican Republic because my dog, family, and friends are still there. This jersey helps me remember the Dominican Republic and makes me feel calm.

TRIP SPOTLIGHT: 2025

A trip to the WNBA & NBA HQ in NYC for our 4th and 5th graders to learn about creative careers in sports. Students were given a chance to present their work, and engage with employees across a wide range of careers.

Providing this exposure early is critical to our programming, and has inspired students to pursue their creative interests.
